Aurelio Useche K. is a Venezuelan, born in Caracas in 1944. Mr. Useche received his degree in Civil Engineering from the Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela in 1966. In 1968, he completed a graduate course in Open Channels Hydraulics at the School of Civil Engineering, Universidad Central de Venezuela. In 1971, he was awarded a Master of Science degree in Engineering Economic Planning from Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. Mr. Useche attended the Financial Management Program at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. He began his professional activities as Chief Engineer managing the rural water supply and sanitation program in Trujillo, Venezuela. Mr. Useche was appointed Planning Engineer of the Water Resources Planning Division of the Ministry of Public Works. He was transferred to the National Water Planning Commission (COPLANARH). He served as Executive Director of COPLANARH. When the Venezuelan Government decided to organize the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Useche, was hired as an Advisor. He also served as Consultant to various government agencies. Mr. Useche was appointed Director of the Office of Budget and Management of the Venezuelan Government and was a member of the economic cabinet of the President. In addition, he served as Principal Member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Venezuela and of the Venezuelan Investment Fund (FIV). He was Vice President of Planning and Finance of Banco del Orinoco, Vice President Director of Sociedad Financiera del Orinoco and Banco Hipotecario del Orinoco, Managing Director of Banco del Orinoco N.V., and Director of Incambios Valores Casa de Bolsa. In addition, he was involved in the development of franchise businesses, being one of the promoters of Dominos Pizza in Venezuela. Mr. Useche served as Member of the Board of Directors of Venezuelan International Airlines (VIASA), just after being privatized. He was President of HIDROVEN (Venezuelan Water Supply Holding Co.). He was Senior Advisor in the privatization process of Banco Consolidado and General de Seguros. Served as Director of Banco de Venezuela and Banco de Venezuela International in Florida, USA. Mr. Useche was appointed to lead the Universidad Catholic Andres Bello studies to develop a school of business, sponsored by The Coca Cola Company Venezuelan subsidiary. At present Mr. Useche leads CEG Coastal Group, Inc., a Florida subsidiary of Ingenieria de Consultas Incostas, one of the largest engineering consultant companies in Venezuela. Mr. Useche has been Professor of Engineering Economics at the School of Industrial Engineering at the Andres Bello Catholic University. He also teaches Corporate Finance at the Universidad Metropolitana, School of Administration, as well as graduate courses for the MBA.
