Agustin Smith



   

 

(1918 - 1995)
Agustin Smith was born in Cúcuta, Colombia in 1918. He was Commander of the Colombian Navy, which he served for over twenty years. While carrying out his military functions, he meets Lolita Quintero, a Venezuelan artist with whom he marries. They resided in Venezuela until 1979, then he travels to Texas, USA, to study at the Delmar College in Corpus Christi, where he graduated with honors in Liberal Arts. Author during his youth of a diary of experiences following a trip through the Amazon, it is nevertheless in the sixties when he published the work La puerta cerrada, which was a finalist for a literary contest in Colombia.
