Illustration and Graphic Design Studies completed at Escuela Massana in Barcelona (Special Award 2000). Post graduate course in Illustration and Engraving at l’École des Arts Déco (Strasbourg) and l’École des Beaux Arts (Marseille).
Since 2001, Mariona has worked for Spanish and foreign publishers. Her work regularly features in national and international magazines, newspapers and publications in the publishing and advertising areas.
Mariona´s work has been included in collective exhibitions on illustration and engraving, as well as in comic books and animation projects.
In 2003, the Professional Association of Illustrators of Catalonia awarded her the Junceda Award for her work in the category of children´s illustration, with her book Libro para contar mientras se come un huevo frito (Publisher: Kalandraka). In 2009, the Association gave her a Special Mention for her book Adivina adivinanza tengo un cero en la panza.
In 2005, the Association of Illustrators and the Spanish Ministry of Culture selected her to be part of the Bologna exhibition and catalogue Ilustrísimos dedicated to Spanish illustration. On that same year, she was also chosen for the exhibition and catalogue of the 22a Mostra Internazionale d´Illustrazione per l´Infanzia of the Cassamarca Foundation.
In 2010, Mariona and children´s book writer Pep Bruno, won the 3rd International Contest of Illustrated Books of Santiago de Compostela, with the book La Familia C.
Mariona currently alternates her work as an illustrator with teaching at several art and graphic design schools in Barcelona. She also runs her own workshops.
